This website is run by the Manakamana Temple Reconstruction & Restoration Committee, Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha, Nepal. We use the personal information you give us only for the work of rebuilding the temple, we keep it safe, and we never sell it. This policy follows Nepal’s Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018).
What we collect
- Donation pledge form (Donate / Donate Copper): your name, email, phone, city, the amount or copper weight, payment method, your message, and whether you want your name on the Donor Wall.
- Volunteer form (Get Involved): name, email, phone, country, availability, areas of interest and skills.
- Contact and “message for the future”: your name and your message.
- Comments: name, email and the comment text when you comment on a news post.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and troubleshooting.
This website does not collect bank, card or wallet details. Payments are made through your bank, eSewa / Khalti / Fonepay or PayPal, and their own privacy policies apply there.
Why and how we use it
- To record your pledge, confirm when the money or copper arrives, and contact you about it if needed.
- For the committee’s accounts and audits. Public reports show totals only, never personal details.
- To coordinate with volunteers and to answer your messages.
- To notify the committee’s email address when a form is submitted.
The Donor Wall
Only if you tick “Put my name on the Donor Wall” do we show your name and donation level on this website’s Donor Wall. Your phone, email and city are never published. You can stay anonymous, or ask us to remove your name, at any time by email.
Cookies and outside services
- Language cookie (
mk_lang): remembers whether you chose नेपाली or English, for one year. It does not track you. - Comment cookies: only if you choose “remember my name” when commenting.
- Google Analytics: if the committee turns it on, it is used to count visits. Google may set its own cookies.
- Live stream and 360° tour: playing the YouTube or Facebook player lets those services set their own cookies.
Who sees your information
Donation, volunteer and message records are seen only by the committee members responsible for them. The data lives on our hosting provider’s servers, and notifications go out through an email service. We do not give your information to anyone else unless the law requires it, and we never sell it.
How long we keep it
Donation and volunteer records are kept for the duration of the reconstruction project and its audits. Contact messages are deleted once answered and no longer needed. After that, information is deleted or kept only with names removed.
Your rights
You can ask at any time to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, and to have your name removed from the Donor Wall. Donors abroad also have the rights their own law gives them (for example the GDPR in Europe). Write to manakamanadham@gmail.com.
Children
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18 without a guardian’s consent.
Security and changes
The site runs over HTTPS and admin access is restricted. Even so, no system on the internet is completely secure. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
